About Aleksandr
Aleksandr Biruk is a Belarusian artist living and working in Tbilisi. He likens his creative process to that of a composer, creating visual music by transferring the emotional state of his images to his audience through the interplay of form, color and silhouettes.
His work focuses on the human ability to make poetry of things and events, to easily and freely transform them into something special and multidimensional, to create beautiful and funny rituals or to turn even the simplest processes into ritual. This ability acts as both method and a subject of representation for him.
His work has been exhibited in Russia, Georgia and the Netherlands and is in private collections in Europe and the United States. He is a recipient of the Gaude Polonia scholarship awarded by the Polish Ministry of Culture.
